Date
3rd Century CE. Grenfell et al. assigns this manuscript to late third or early fourth century.
Provenance
Oxyrhynchus, Egypt.
Size
About 5.7 cm. x 2.8 cm.
It contain a scrap from the bottom of a leaf of a papyrus codex.
Contents
It contain Acts 26:7-8 (verso) and Acts 26:20 (recto).
Textual Character
This is a tantalizing example that belongs to an abnormal recension of Acts. All that survives is 7-10 letters from the beginning or ends of 10 fairly long lines which covered 26:7-8 and 20, and the reconstructions of the lacunae are in several places doubtful; but enough remains to show that the text presented many novelties.
Metzger thinks that P29 might be "Western." The Alands describe it as a "free" text. It is to be remembered that the fragment is too small to be certain of its textual characteristics.
Writing
The script is good-sized, somewhat irregular uncial.
