Kufic script.

Contents

The translation of the inscription is given below. The Arabic part is in italics:

  1. I am Maimūn, mawla of
  2. Abū Maryam, mawla of Rabbaḥ,
  3. We ask for Paradise as our abode
  4. and angels as bearers of message.
  5. And written in [the year] eighty.

Comments

This inscription was found on the Ḥajj route from Syria.[1]
