Written in kufic script.

Contents

The translation of the inscription is:

  1. "God - there is no deity except Him.
  2. He will surely assemble you for
  3. the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt.
  4. And who is more truthful
  5. than God in statement."
  6. And this was inscribed by ʿUthmān bin
  7. Wahran in the year eighty.

Comments

ʿUthmān bin Wahran also left two other inscriptions (1, 2) containing Qur'an bearing the same date. Complete Qur'an 4:87 is mentioned in this inscription.
