Date

Late 2nd / Early 3rd Century CE. The Alands date it to c. 300 CE.

Provenance

Purchased in Cairo, Egypt, in 1924. Its exact provenance is unknown but it is believed that it came from the Fayum.

This is a tattered fragment coming from a papyrus codex.

Acts 18:27 - 19:6, 12-16.

Textual Character

P38 is a representative of "Western" form of the Book of Acts.

Writing

The papyrus is written in a reformed documentary hand.
