Contents
Verso, Luke 22:58-61. Recto, Luke 22:41 and 45-48, 42-44 being omitted. On the recto the ink is almost effaced and the text is readable only with difficulty.
Textual Character
It represents a rather "idiosyncratic" text. Luke 22:42-44 being absent (along with the first phrase of v. 45). It is attributed to the accidental omission by the scribe. It has some unique readings as well as those which are well known (see Peter M. Head's article).
According to the Alands, P69 displays a very free text, characteristic of precursors of the D-text. According to the editors of P.Oxy 2383, P69 contains three examples of characteristic D readings. But these are counterbalanced by eight disagreements with D.
Writing
The handwriting consists of rough rounded capitals of moderate size. No punctuation is used by the scribe.
